2015 was a blockbuster year for Australian film, and it shows no sign of slowing down in 2016 and beyond
Something wonderful is happening in the Australian film industry. Only a few years ago critics were declaring that Australian films could not compete with Hollywood, but the results from 2015’s box office are proof that audiences do have a hungry appetite for local stories.
Last year the industry went from strength to strength with The Dressmaker, Mad Max: Fury Road, Last Cab to Darwin, Holding the Man, Paper Planes, That Sugar Film and Ruben Guthrie.
